ArxOS

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 14 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of the ArxOS website and software, a free, open-source project published under the Stingray Labs brand. The ".uk" is only the domain name and does not indicate a place of business.

1. About ArxOS

ArxOS is a free, open-source operating system distribution. The website at arxos.uk provides information, documentation, and download links. By using the website or the software you agree to these terms.

2. The software is free and provided "as is"

ArxOS and its components are distributed free of charge under their respective open-source licences (for example the GNU General Public License for the kernel and various tools). To the maximum extent permitted by law, the software and the website are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You use them at your own risk.

3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential damage arising from your use of the software or the website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

4. Acceptable and lawful use of the security tools

ArxOS includes security, networking, and analysis tools. You must use them only on systems you own or are explicitly authorised in writing to test, and only in compliance with all laws that apply to you. Using these tools to access, disrupt, or damage systems without authorisation is illegal and strictly prohibited. You are solely responsible for how you use the software.

5. Third-party links and content

The site links to third-party sites and downloads (for example GitHub, imaging tools, and reference documentation). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, and a link is not an endorsement.

6. Intellectual property

The ArxOS and Stingray Labs names, logos, and site design are ours or used with permission. The software is licensed under its open-source licences, which govern your rights to use, modify, and redistribute it. Site text and images are ours or used under licence; do not reuse them without permission except as those licences allow.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; continued use of the website or software means you accept the current version. These terms do not limit any rights you have under the mandatory consumer or data-protection laws that apply to you where you live.
